As part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), acupuncture has been practised in the East for thousands of years.

Now it is incorporated in many hospitals around the world, and is widely acknowledged to hasten post-operative recovery, reduce the side effects of medication and the need for conventional drug treatment, reduce pain and, most importantly, keep spirits up, which is essential in tackling any problem.

Many Western medical doctors and physiotherapists use acupuncture trigger points for pain relief. But acupuncture can also help with a wide range of health problems. It can be used as an alternative to Western medicine, but usually Eastern and Western medical models make quite good partners, as one complements the other. Western medicine is often necessary in emergency or acute situations and fast-developing illnesses, while acupuncture has an excellent record in treating chronic cases and unexplained ailments.

I have, in particular, accumulated valuable experience in TCM gynaecology and obstetrics. I have undertaken further integrated post-graduate studies to specialise in fertility acupuncture.

As a member of ACT-London (Acupuncture Childbirth Team), a London-wide network of practitioners specialising in the field of fertility and childbirth, I work together with doctors, midwives and other complementary therapists. My clinic in Turnpike Lane is dedicated to all aspects of women's health.

Qualifications and background

BSc (Hons) Lic.Ac      I received my Bachelor of Science degree with a Licentiate in Acupuncture from The London College of Traditional Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (LCTA) in 2004.

MSc CHM   The Masters degree in Chinese Herbal Medicine (from the School of Integrated Health, University of Westminster) was a continuation of my studies in Oriental Medicine in 2008.

MBAcC & MRCHM   As a member of two professional regulatory bodies, the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), and the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (RCHM), I observe their Codes of Professional Practice and am covered by medical indemnity insurance.

TCM   There are many different schools and currents within the Oriental tradition. I practise mostly Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncture, incorporating other styles (Five Elements, Meridian, and Japanese) where appropriate.
